Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a highly detailed, non-invasive hair loss solution, that creates natural looking hair. SMP provides the look of hair by depositing thousands of micro pigment dots into the epidermis of the scalp which replicates hair follicles. Best of all, there is no down-time or ongoing maintenance required with SMP. SMP is not a scalp tattoo—this is the look of natural, fuller and thicker hair.

At Rejuvenation Medical, we provide SMP for male and female pattern baldness, alopecia, thinning hair, and scarring. We can also discuss prescription medication modalities (Finasteride, Minoxidil) to help preserve the life of the hair you still have. In addition, we can use our laser technology to soften and lighten scars prior to camouflaging and blending them with SMP. We provide our clients with life changing, long lasting, and natural results. SMP is a new way of life, it will improve your overall attractiveness, self-esteem, and confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is scalp micropigemntation?

Scalp pigment is inserted into the epidermal layer of the scalp which replicates micro hair follicles. It creates the look of a full head of hair. For women with thinning or thin hair, it provides fullness and density. Men suffering from male pattern baldness, SMP provides the appearance of a full head of hair and restores the receding hairline.

How is smp different than a tattoo?

Although SMP is sometimes referred to as a hair tattoo, it is actually a form of permanent cosmetic pigmentation. The pigmentation for SMP is color-blended to match an individual’s hair and skin color whereas the ink used for tattooing results in blue and green undertones.

Is SMP reversible?

YES! SMP is very easy to remove with laser technology (which we offer in our office).  The laser heats up and breaks down the pigmentation which is then absorbed into the dermis. SMP is easy to remove because it is only superficially deposited into the epidermis whereas tattoo ink is deposited much deeper into the epidermis.

Is it painful?

Most clients experience no pain at all. If you have a very sensitive scalp and experience discomfort, we can prescribe medication modalities to alleviate the pain.

Does it work on brown or blonde hair?

Yes, it works on all hair colors. We match the pigment specifically to your skin tone and hair color.

How long does the procedure take?

It depends on the amount of hair loss and area treated. Typically, it takes 3 sessions. Each session ranging in length from 2-4 hours. We space each session out by a couple of weeks. We can always work with your schedule and time restrictions to ensure optimal results.

What does my scalp look like after the treatment?

You will have instantaneous results. Typically, your scalp will appear slightly red directly after the procedure and usually resolves in 2-3 days.

How much does it cost?

Scalp micropigmentation cost depends on the amount of hair loss, scaring, and density. Call or email to schedule your free consultation.

Is it guaranteed?

We have a 1 year guarantee from the date of your last treatment.

What if i keep losing my hair?

We are able to provide density to areas of newly thinned hair and blend it with the existing SMP.

We can also discuss prescription medications to decrease the likelihood of continued hair loss.
